Dr. Zhao’s research focuses on ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials including experimental and theoretical characterization of ferroelectric ceramics and composites, and development of piezoelectric smart composites and devices for medical applications and energy harvesting. Dr. Zhao has worked with a number of graduate and undergraduate students for promoting these interesting research areas since joining UMD in 2012.
