Director's Note

The idea started during the pandemic. Most of us where spending much more time at home. Or at least at the place we were currently living, which if we were lucky, felt like home. We also felt the disconnections from other experiences of home – literal or metaphorical/emotional – as we all sacrificed so many of our normal activities due to shutdowns. What is home? Who is home? And how does that relate to dance?

For so many of us who dance, dancing itself feels like home, and it has been a gift to return to the full experience of our practice this year. I am grateful to all the artists who are contributing to bringing this concert to life.

The through line I have found in all our pieces is that home is not just in places, it is in our relationships, our connections to other people forged through the experiences we share.  Thank you for joining our home by joining us to share this concert.
