Bryn Cohn

Described as having “a brilliant mind” (Dance Enthusiast), Bryn Cohn is an award-winning choreographer, filmmaker, movement director, educator and the artistic director of Bryn Cohn + Artists (BC + A). BC + A has been presented by Jacob’s Pillow, Danspace Project, Bryant Park, Hudson Valley Dance Festival, McCallum Theatre’s Choreography Competition, 92nd Street Y, REDCAT Theatre and Los Angeles Dance Festival. She has received funding from Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Actors Fund, Kaatsbaan International Dance Center, SILO Residency through DanceNOW, Alfred Z Soloman Trust, The Field and was named Inception to Exhibition’s “Fan Favorite” based on 5,000 votes.

Cohn was nominated for a Princess Grace Fellowship in Choreography. She won REGALIA, a choreography competition on Repertory Dance Theatre and received a commission. Cohn participated in the New Directions Choreography Lab at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a residency supported by the Ford Foundation. She has been commissioned by BalletCollective (dancers of New York City Ballet), Louis Vuitton, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Backhaus Dance, Billy Bell’s Lunge Dance, Youth America Grand Prix, Jacksonville Dance Theater, Smartwater, Big Muddy Dance Company, Texas Woman's University, Alma College, University at Buffalo and California State University, Fullerton. Her work was selected for the gala at American College Dance Association in 2019. Cohn received a feature in Dance Teacher Magazine. She has served on faculty at AMDA College and Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Studio School, Gibney, Rutgers University, Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles Ballet and Peridance. Cohn has taught master classes at CalArts, Temple University, Cornish College of the Arts, Velocity Dance Center, Shenandoah University, Broadway Dance Center, Axis Connect and 10 Hairy Legs. Her paper was published by The Dancer Citizen. Cohn has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Composition from California Institute and was recently honored as distinguished alumna. She has Master of Fine Arts in Dance from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a High Honors, Chancellor’s Award and Regent’s Award recipient.
