Systemwide Resources for Faculty, Researchers, and Grad Students, too:
A Conversation

Summary:
Presenters from seven university offices and the University libraries talk about sources of internal funding and other programs to support research and teaching, with opportunities to support collaboration with community, across disciplines and borders. Faculty, staff, and graduate students working with advisors who can support their work are invited; programs discussed are open to each of these groups. Registration is required.
About the Event:
As UM faculty and staff return to professional life after a pandemic, and as new faculty join UM, we'd like to create a moment to bring together the diversity of internal funding and research/teaching support opportunities available within the UM system. This Zoom-based, multi-campus conversation will address the internal resources, available system-wide, for new faculty (and midcareer folks who just don't know what is available).
While many of these resources have websites outlining their offerings, we can improve access to the diverse resources by having a conversation together. Audience members will learn about the mission and strengths of each resource. (For example: Where GPSA excels in supporting Fulbright applications, for example, and other partnerships with international collaborators, IAS excels at building collaborations within the system. GPSA and IonE are both invested in the SDGs, but from within very different frameworks.)
Q&A will open discussions of the best way for members of the UM community to access the resources they need to succeed as teachers and scholars.
Access:
The event will be recorded. Captioning will be provided by Zoom, but that is not an ideal tool for access; if other forms of access and accomodation (for this webpage or for the event) are required, please email dbeard@d.umn.edu
