About
Tiff, by Lake Superior
Meet the Author
Tiff Sprague is a Stormwater Research Coordinator, Sustainability Program Manager and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator with the Natural Resources Research Institute, University of Minnesota Duluth. She's passionate about engaging communities and the public on watershed management practices, stormwater pollution prevention, green infrastructure implementation, and has a soft spot for engaging volunteers in participatory science. When not busy chatting with the people, she enjoys flitting about her abundant native pollinator gardens, raising monarch butterflies, and attempting to become a secret chickadee whisperer.
If you're as passionate about green stormwater infrastructure as Tiff, feel free to send her an email exclaiming your love of all things nature and Lake Superior: tsprague@d.umn.edu. And maybe include photos of the cool things you're doing around your yard!
Maury with his adorable children, eating snacks in the woods
Meet the Artist
Maury Aaseng received a BFA in graphic design from the University of Minnesota Duluth and has a particular knack for creating accurate renderings to illuminate concepts in health sciences, the body, and nature for publications. Maury's worked with a growing list of collaborators, from botanical gardens to universities, public works utilities, and gastroenterologists, to name a few. In 2016, a collection of his watercolor work was displayed at the Great Lakes Aquarium gallery (with a few pieces now adorning Tiff's living room walls). His range includes digital art, vector illustration, cartooning, watercolor, line art and logo creation. Maury lives along the shores of Lake Superior with his wife and two children, and they enjoy spending time wandering around these great lakes and woods.
