JOB DESCRIPTION: The Department of Management Studies is seeking a pool of candidates to fill a variety of potential positions. Being a member of the qualified applicant pool does not ensure a teaching contract will be offered; course offerings, and therefore teaching appointments will vary with demand and available funding. Typically, classes are held in person.
The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for potentially up to one part-time, adjunct, non-tenure track, faculty positions in the Department of Management Studies at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025. The department’s current teaching needs are in the areas of Business Analytics, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, and Organizational Behavior. The candidate must be prepared to teach one to two courses in fall and/or spring semester within any of these areas depending upon the needs of the department and hold regularly scheduled office hours during the semester.

UMD's Labovitz School of Business and Economics is AACSB-International accredited and housed in a state-of-the-art building. Approximately 1,700 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in the school’s programs. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty members in four academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics and Health Care Management, Management Studies, and Marketing. The School offers a Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and MBA degrees. Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Business Analytics/Management Information System or an equivalent program such as Data Science or AI from an accredited institution with substantive coursework in the analytics/modeling of data, or be ABD in Business Analytics/MIS/Data Science or related programs from a major accredited national or international university.
If the applicant has a Masters degree and is not ABD or PhD, the applicant must have experience that demonstrates active involvement in his/her profession, which is in the primary teaching area, since the time of the Masters degree completion. Teaching Load
Tenure-track faculty currently have a 3-2 load (15 credits per year)
