Taichung Municipal Chang Yi High School: School Emblem
The school’s emblem is inspired by the initial letter “C” from the English name “Chang Yi.” Its design features six interlocking curved “C” shapes, representing the six grade levels from Year one of junior high to Year three of senior high. United as one, these six “Cs” symbolize solidarity and a shared purpose, expressing the collective commitment of all students to shaping the future of Chang Yi High School: rooted in Taiwan, reaching for the world.
“United Effort” Sculpture and Gourd‑Shaped Fishpond
Installed on November 30, 1993, this sculpture was created by renowned sculptor Hsieh Tung-Liang and cast in bronze. At the time, then–Taichung County Magistrate Liao Liou-Yi specially inscribed the following dedication:
“As the first campus sculpture project in Taichung County, planned by Director Hung Ching Feng and carried out by Principal Huang Chun Wen , this work lays a solid foundation for the vision of integrating art into school environments. May this new beginning help shape an excellent school culture and advance high quality civic education. The work embodies the image of sharing a common goal and rowing together in the same boat, expressing the spirit of the school motto: Integrity, Compassion, Diligence, and Perseverance.”
A smaller version of the same sculpture is also on display at the Yangming Building of the Taichung City Education Bureau.
