Description:
The Leahy Center for Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity are pleased to host five-week and fifteen-week long internships in cybersecurity for high school students. The internships will provide high school students with the opportunity to get hands-on technical experience with a Raspberry Pi project.
Champlain College & CyberTech are proud to partner with GenCyber for this internship. With funding provided by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation, the GenCyber [HR1] program aims to boost interest and awareness of cybersecurity careers and increase diversity in the cybersecurity workforce in the United States.
Goals:
The internship will foster the participants' understanding of cybersecurity concepts and encourage promotion of the field within their schools and communities. Participants will leave the internship with a better understanding of the Raspbian Operating System, Bash scripting, Python programming, and various cybersecurity tools.
Where:
The internships will take place virtually via inSpace hosted through the Leahy Center.
Instructors:
This program is taught by the CyberTech Awareness Program with the guidance of full-time faculty from Champlain College's Cybersecurity program.
Application:
Participants do not need any prior background or experience in security or computers to apply. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Please complete the GenCyber - High School Internship Google Form and we will get back to you promptly.
