Art Class Curriculum: This is an introductory course to the visual arts. The content covers a variety of artmaking: drawing, painting, color theory, three-dimensional design, techniques in perspective, printmaking, fibers etc. Students will be exposed to art history and visual arts careers. Students will learn and incorporate the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design into their projects. This is a hands-on project-based course. Beyond the concepts and skills essential to making projects by hand, it is hoped that this course will promote critical thinking about, and a direct, hands-on engagement with, art. Class time is primarily focused on students building upon their technical skills and critically responding to various art example through projects.
Domestic Maintenance Curriculum: In Domestic Maintenance skills such as laundry, shopping, cleaning and cooking are practiced to prepare students for independent living.
