Effective Date: 02/20/2025
Thank you for installing Room Availability Checker (the “Extension”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information obtained through your use of our Extension.
Google Calendar Data
We access certain details from your Google Calendar events, such as event summary/title, start/end times, attendees (including room resource emails), and other relevant metadata needed to check room availability.
We store an OAuth token to authenticate with Google’s APIs. This token is saved locally in your browser’s storage (via chrome.storage.local).
Minimal Event Details to Backend
We may send minimal event details (e.g., resource email, start/end time, attendees) to our backend service at https://backend-v1-dot-sync-g-calendar-ressources.ey.r.appspot.com/ to verify room reservation conditions and scheduling policies.
We do not transmit or store sensitive personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for checking room conflicts.
Room Conflict Checks
We use your Calendar data solely to detect scheduling conflicts and enforce resource usage policies.
Notifications
We may notify you if your event conflicts with existing reservations or violates certain conditions.
We do not use or share your data for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purposes.
Local Storage
Your OAuth token is stored securely in chrome.storage.local to avoid repeated sign-ins.
Backend Storage
We may temporarily store necessary event details on our backend servers to perform conflict checks. We do not permanently retain personal user data unless required for legitimate operational or security purposes.
Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your data to any third parties.
Service Providers
We only share minimal event data with our own backend service to confirm resource availability.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We use industry-standard security measures (HTTPS, access controls) to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Revoke Access
You can remove or disable the Extension at any time. You may also revoke the Extension’s access to your Google account by going to your Google Account’s security settings.
Delete Data
If you wish to delete any stored data, you can clear the Extension’s local storage via Chrome settings or uninstall the Extension. For backend data, please contact us at the email below.
Our Extension is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website or GitHub page with the “Effective Date” at the top. By continuing to use the Extension after changes become effective, you agree to the revised policy.
