Located in the heart of the City of Barre, Vermont, Central Vermont Career Center has served students from the greater Barre community for over 50 years. Throughout the years, alumni and community members have generously provided lifetime and legacy donations to support the post-secondary education and career goals of our graduates.

Abilio Amor Award (In House) - This scholarship was created to provide two annual awards for two CVCC students who have successfully completed a CVCC program (or will by the end of the school year); have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or greater; have demonstrated persistence in problem - solving; and may have financial need. Students need not to be pursuing post-secondary education.
Alex Williams Culinary Award (In House) - This scholarship was created to provide financial support to a senior who has actively participated and graduated (or will by the end of the school year) the Culinary Arts program.
American Legion 10 Auxiliary Unit 10 (In House) - This scholarship is presented to a Medical Professions student who demonstrated success within their program.
Barre American Legion Post 10 Award (In House) - This scholarship is intended for a student in the Building Trades program who has demonstrated success within their program.
Barre Kiwanis Scholarship (In House) - This award is presented to Seniors that are graduating and going on to college or trade school.
Benjamin Beavin Memorial Scholarship (In House) - This scholarship honors the life and legacy of Benjamin Beavin, a dedicated Emergency Medical Services and Medical Professions student who tragically passed away in 2024. Known for his kindness, compassion, quick wit, and unwavering commitment to helping others, Benji was a shining light in the Central Vermont Career Center programs and a true inspiration to peers and instructors alike. His passion for health care and genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others left a lasting impact. This scholarship supports students who share Benji's spirit of service, empathy, and dedication to the medical field. Students eligible for this scholarship should have participated in the Medical Professions, Emergency Medical Services 1 or 2 program.
Bolduc's Metals & Recycling - "You Crushed It Award" (In House) - This award will be given to a student who is actively involved in their community events, participates in their chosen field beyond the academic curriculum, has a motivated and disciplined attitude, and represents the trades in a manner that reflects positively on CVTCC.
Dean Family Sustainability Award (In House) - This scholarship was created to support two students whose intention is a career with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and conservation, e.g. agricultural food production, renewable energy, food sourcing, healthier alternatives to chemical treatments, etc. The recipient must have attended CVCC for a minimum of 1 year (students can be in their first year, as long as they have successfully completed the program by the end of the school year).
Kingsbury Companies (In House) - This donation is intended to support a student in either Automotive, Building Trades, Electrical, Plumbing or Welding. The tool provided will support a student who will be moving on their respective trade.
Lenny's Shoe and Apparel Scholarship (In House) - This scholarship is intended to support a graduating senior, with a 3.0 GPA, who is either going into the Plumbing and Heating field or furthering their education in that respective field. Lenny's is providing both a scholarship and 2 gift-card donations, which will be presented to two individual students.
Lisa P. Donahue Scholarship (In House) - This scholarship is intended for a female student in a non-traditional program; must be a youth student who has shown proven leadership skills.
Maria and Melvin McKnight Award (In House)- This scholarship is intended for a Medical Professions student who may plan to enter a professional medical field when qualified.
Michael Stone Award (In House) - This scholarship was created with the intention to support a student pursuing further education or a career in Automotive Technology, and who displays compassion for helping others within the community.
Milford Leonard Award (In House) - This scholarship was created to benefit one or more students enrolled in a vocational education program at the Barre Vocational Technical Center (Central Vermont Career Center) desiring to pursue further education in the field of mechanical engineering, mechanical technology, or any associated field of study (Electrical/Plumbing) at an accredited institution of learning.
MRV Rotary Trades Scholarship (In House) - This scholarship is for a graduating senior in Building Trades residing in one of the following towns - Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield or Warren. Student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Mutuo Soccorso Club (In House)- The Italian America Heritage and Mutuo Inc. award is intended to support any student in our programs at CVCC.
Norway & Sons (In House)- This award is presented to a student in the electrical program and can be used to purchase tools.
RK Miles (In House) - This tool of the trade is presented to a student in Electrical, Plumbing, Building Trades, Welding or Automotive technology.
SHS Class of 1973 (In House) - This scholarship was created to support any deserving Spaulding High School graduating student who intends to pursue the trade of their passion.
SHS Class of 1979 (In House) - Scholarship supports graduates of the Spaulding High School Class of 2025. Preference will be given to relatives of the SHS Class of 1979 who plan to further their education in an accredited College or Trade School.
Thomas Gariboldi Memorial Award (In House) - This Scholarship is awarded to any Spaulding High School graduate that pursues a career in Barbering and/or Cosmetology.
Washington Electric Company (In House)- This scholarship was intended to support a student who may be pursuing a career in Electrical Technology.
OUTSIDE SCHOLARSHIPS
American Legion Department of Vermont - The American Legion Department of Vermont is offering twelve scholarships (Dept. Of Vermont Scholarship $1,500, Dept. Commander Scholarship $1,000 and ten $500 scholarships).These scholarships are open to seniors attending a Vermont Secondary School, or a similar school in an adjoining state, whose parents are legal residents of the State of Vermont OR seniors residing in an adjacent state whose normal high school attendance area is a Vermont Secondary School. Applicant must be a US resident. Application deadline is April 1, 2026
Barre Elks Club Legacy Awards - Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Eligibility requirements are outlined in the application linked above. Deadline to apply is February 2, 2026 by 11:59am.
Bar Harbor Bank & Trust CTE Scholarship Application - This scholarship is available for students who are graduating and meet the eligibility requirements set forth by in the linked application. Application deadline is May 1, 2026.
Betty Cutler Memorial Scholarship Fund - There are four, $500 scholarships up for grabs. The requirements for applying for the Betty Cutler Memorial Scholarship are as follows: Be a graduating senior of Central Vermont Career Center or Randolph Technical Career Center, Answer the following question in essay format: “How will your education/skills impact your community?” Email essay as attachment with student’s name, address, phone number and school in the email body to cindy@norway-sons.com. Casella - Power of Hard Work Scholarship - Are you ready to launch your future in Heavy Equipment Operations or Diesel Mechanics? This is your chance to earn a $5,000 scholarship to help you take the next big step! Must be on track to graduate high school and meet all graduation requirements • Must be actively continuing education in Heavy Equipment and/or Diesel Mechanics Fields • Scholarship Funds will be submitted directly to intended institution • Applications due by March 15 — don’t miss out! • Recipients will be announced in April and awarded during graduation ceremonies or award nights
CVMC Scholarship - Central Vermont Medical Center is once again pleased to offer the 2025 CVMC Health Care Scholarship for study in the medical field. This year six (6) graduating high school students/adult learners who plan to pursue a career in health care will be selected for a $2,500 one-time scholarship. Complete applications must be emailed or postmarked no later than April 30, 2025.
Lonny Wade Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is open to any of the following programs: Plumbing, heating, Electrician, Building, concrete, roofing, surveying, carpentry, welding, heavy equipment, HVAC, engineering, forestry and natural resources, law enforcement, public safety, emergency services, fire services and automotive. Student must maintain a proficient grade with a recommendation letter from their teacher. Also, a letter from the student stating their course of study and a brief explanation about themselves and their future intentions and a copy of their acceptance letter. Deadline is May 15, 2026
New England Service Scholarships - These scholarships, offered by the Red Sox Foundation, recognizes 100 high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to community service and academic excellence. Selected students from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their education. In addition to the scholarship, recipients will participate in a service project in Boston before being honored on the field at Fenway Park before the Friday, June 27th game against the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:10pm. SCF National Scholarship - For over twenty years, the Shawn Carter Foundation has been committed to bridging the opportunity gap that exists across the education system. Shawn Carter Foundation Scholars represent diverse backgrounds and typically face significant barriers to success such as teen pregnancy, homelessness, former incarceration, interrupted schooling, and sexual and domestic abuse. Still, they all possess an extraordinary desire to pursue their educational and professional dreams. All high school seniors, GED recipients, undergraduate (2yr or 4yr) college students, and students enrolled at vocational or trade schools who meet the requirements below and are pursuing their first undergraduate degree are eligible to apply. SHS Class of 1979 - Scholarship supports graduates of the Spaulding High School Class of 2025. Preference will be given to relatives of the SHS Class of 1979 who plan to further their education in an accredited College or Trade School. Deadline is May 1, 2025.
Steven M Tracy II Memorial Organization Scholarship - This scholarship is open to any Williamstown residing student who is going into a trade after graduation. Deadline to Application is due May 15, 2025.
Waterbury Rotary Club Tools of the Trade - The Waterbury Rotary Club is pleased to offer the Tools of the Trade scholarship to Waterbury area students attending the Central Vermont Career Center. This award is available to any senior from Harwood Union High School who lives in Waterbury, Waterbury Center, Duxbury, or Moretown and is graduating from a program at CVCC. The Tools of the Trade Scholarship awards students with $1,000 worth of tools, materials, or supplies in their chosen professional field. Application is due April 30, 2026.
