I may be new to WCS, but I'm not new to teaching. I have been teaching middle level math and science for 25 years. I began in Bridport, VT then Mount Abe in Bristol before I began teaching at HInesburg Community School in 2003. I am excited to join WCS after a year off to sail the east coast and Bahamas. I have a masters degree in Education and also teach a college math class at CCV each semester.
I have two children, Eliza (20) and Jackson (23), and a sweet little terrier named Lili. I live in Shelburne (VT since 1993) but grew up in California and Mahattan before attending college at University of California Santa Barbara. In the summer you might find me hiking, paddle boarding or reading.
I started my teaching here at WCS in 2000! Since then I have made my way though various 3rd and 4th grade teams as well as a 5th and 6th grade team as a math teacher and Humanities teacher. I am looking forward to starting our new Team, Tamarack, this year as a math and Humanities teacher!
I began my work in the world of educating children after receiving a degree from St. Lawrence University outside of a classroom. I was teaching skiing and environmental education around the state to children from 5 years of age to 13. While leading trips and being on snow was a treat, the seasonal lifestyle was not for me. I had a short stint in a Waldorf inspired Kindergarten class and it was then I knew that I wanted to be in a classroom. I went back to UVM to get a teaching license for K-6 and was fortunate enough to get a job after finishing. A long-term substitute position in Addison County soon led to my position here! The rest is history.
When I'm not teaching I'm an unabashed father of two girls who will both be seniors this year, one at UVM and the other at Winooski High. We like to spend time on snow and adventuring around the area. I'm regularly earning my taxi license driving to swim meets and soccer games too. Music is a big part of my life, and I make a point of seeing live performances as much as possible. Festivals with the kids have become a regular event, and we are all slowly learning how to play instruments and sing. Someday we make the stage?
Hello! I am one the Tamarack Humanities teacher as well as the 6th grade math teacher. I have been teaching at Williston Central School for 17 years and over 20 years total!
I live in Essex with my wife and 2 daughters- Molly and Sophie; ages 17 and 11 (12 in November). My wife and I own Juniper Knoll Farm in Jericho, Vermont. I love working on projects around the house and at the farm, making maple syrup, traveling, and spending time with my family. I'm a passionate soccer fan; supporting a team in England (Hull City) and US National Teams. I always have music on too. We have 1 dog in our home, 2 cats, oh, and a few horses too!
My name is Lisa Bisbee, and I love math more than most people. I live in Huntington with my husband and crazy rescue dog. I grew up in Middlebury, VT, and graduated from Hamilton College with a double major in Mathematics and Psychology. I was granted a teaching fellowship through UVM and in 1995 was awarded a Masters of Education with an endorsement of Learning Specialist/Consulting Teacher. I did my internship in Swift House, and have worked all around the school since 1995.
I love spending time outside with my family, hiking, gardening, and traveling to National parks and around the world. I read loads of books and I am always open to suggestions. Dance parties, laughing, and helping people figure out problems are some of my favorite things.
