When you see a movie and there are bad guys and good guys most of the time the bad guys are black and the good guys that save the day are picture perfect white people. Also, what is the skin color of the majority of the cast? Mostly white right? Who dies first usally the black characters right?
Examples:
1. Avengers: In the movie series Avengers there are only four characters that are black. (Except for the Black Panther Movie). And the black actors are totally outnumbered by the white ones.
Take a look at this picture. Notice that at the top you have the most popular Avengers who are white. and as you go down the photo there are not as popular Avengers. And at the very bottom of the list, all except three are black characters that just so happen to get the least amount of time on camera.
2. Descendants: In the movie series Descendants the four main characters are white and one is Asian and the one black person in the movie is the bad guy. All of the royal characters are perfect white people and the one black person is bad. There are Asian actors and a couple more black actors in the third movie but the number of white actors totally outnumbers the number of black actors.
These people are the main characters in the movie. Take a look at this photo. What do you notice? I for one notice they are all picture perfect white and Asian people.
These are just two examples of racism in movies. next time you watch a movie look at the characters are they all black? All white? Is the bad guy black? Are they white? Is the hero white? Are they black?
