Historical Fiction
We follow a Reader's Workshop model in our class. We start with a brief mini-lesson which introduces a strategy. Students then practice the skill through their reading. They keep a "Reader's Journal" which includes their personal reading goal, books they've completed, reading responses, and reading resources.
Students in 5/6 should be reading an average of 25 minutes daily at home.
