Mr. Madden

My name is John Madden and I love teaching! Education is a second career for me after a five year stint in the business world analyzing profitability of credit card merchants (zzzzzzz). My first job in education was a six month run as the director of the planning room followed by 10 years teaching 4th and 5th grade on the Discover team, all at SCS. Since 2010 I've been the SCS math coach and coordinator, working with adults to improve our math instruction and student learning. I'm really excited to be back in the classroom this year and I look forward to continually pushing to help students learn and grow as much as possible.

I live in Shelburne with my wife of 16 years and our two daughters Maggie (13) and Sophie (11), and our dog Ranger (7). We love to hang out with each other and ski, bike, camp and get out on the beautiful waters of Vermont. I'm an avid golfer and can be found playing every chance I get during the limited season in Vermont.
