ELL Summer Camp 2016
We had 17 campers at SCS ELL Summer Camp this last year. Students ranged from Kindergarten to 7th grade!
Our theme for ELL Summer Camp 2016 was Hidden Stories of Lake Champlain! Campers engaged in many experiences that familiarized them with the Lake. Campers went to the Echo Center in Burlington, The Maritime Museum, took a narrated boat cruise on the Spirit of Ethan Allen and hiked to Shelburne Bay! Campers also hiked Mount Philo to experience the Lake from above and explored rivers that flow into the Lake at the LaPlatte River!
ELL Summer Camp Project!
Campers captured their learning by making IMovies about their learning and favorite places. Each camper took pictures, videos and notes on each field trip, then turned these into beautiful movies!
Summer Reading!
Summer reading is so important!! Every camper at SCS ELL Summer Camp takes part in a summer reading incentive program. Campers who read over the summer get to choose a book at the Flying Pig Bookstore !
