Students in grades 5th-8th grade receive health education for one rotations (6 weeks) of the school year. During the 2020-2021 school year, classes will be taught to individual grade levels. Throughout the 6 weeks, students will be taught a variety of different topics that enhance their overall health knowledge. There is a lot of individual, partner and group work for the students to show the understanding of the content knowledge. At the conclusion of each unit, there is a summative assessment. Summative assessments range from individual projects, classic pen and paper tests, and group presentations. Formative assessments will be used throughout the units being taught.
The following are the JumpRope Habits of Learning are being graded throughout the course:
Responsible Behavior: I can exhibit responsible social behaviors and cooperate with classmates
Active Listening: I can actively listen and follow directions without disturbing others
Participation: I participate in classroom activities and work respectfully by myself and with others
Quality of work: I am completing the work expected of me
