Emily Fisher

Hi, I'm Ms. Fisher! I am a first & second grade classroom teacher on Harmony House at Allen Brook School.  For the '23-'24 school year I will be teaching first grade.

I grew up here in Chittenden County and am a graduate of CVUHS. I received my undergraduate degree in Global Studies at St. Lawrence University in New York and my Masters in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language certification at Lesley University in Massachusetts. I have experience teaching young learners in a range of settings from rural Kenya to urban Boston, Himalayan India to the Green Mountains of Vermont. I've also spent time teaching kids how to ski and horseback ride in Colorado and California. Educating children outdoors and giving young learners unstructured opportunities to play creatively and problem-solve together are key components of my instructional pedagogy.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, hiking, skiing, traveling, sailing, practicing yoga, running, and gardening. My husband and I are homesteaders and built our own off-grid tiny house.  We have a new baby daughter, Bixby, and a dog named Spruce.
