At Allen Brook School we value a community of respect, joy, and connection. We aim to build a safe environment to create trusting relationships amongst students, caregivers and colleagues. We commit to lifting each other up, finding humor in our work, and modeling inclusivity in all that we do.

We partner with our public library for programs and services!
Our Allen Brook Library promotes lifelong learning and the love of reading. The curated materials and books support our school curriculum and provide reading for enjoyment. As your child’s librarian, I teach information literacy skills, guide retrieval skills, provide book talks, share story times, conduct interlibrary loan services, and offer assistance in materials selection. Students have access to an automated catalog containing both print and electronic books, digital ebooks and audiobooks, and online databases. We encourage students and families to think, create, share, and grow. Each PreK-grade 2 class visits our school library weekly with their classroom teacher. Students may also use our library for independent work, silent reading, inquiry, puppetry & dramatic play, small group work, & book exchanges.
Our responsibility as a public educational institution is to ensure every student is safe, has a sense of growth and belonging, and is able to learn and thrive. Regardless of the political direction of the country or individual family values, it is important to remember that our district is a diverse community and includes students who are exploring their identities, students who have a variety of family structures, multilingual learners, students of color, students with disabilities, and socio-economically marginalized families. While we as a district respect all individual family beliefs, we will not allow these beliefs to harm students/families that have differing values. We encourage all of our families and community members to help us work towards a school culture of respect, inclusion and belonging.
