As we start to engage our learners in different ways, we begin to rely on technology even more. Below you will find some tutorials geared for parents to help your students at home.
Your student, no matter the grade level, will probably need to log in to their CVSD Google account at some point in time. This will be needed to access Google Classroom, Google Drive, Google Meet (virtual meetings with their class), or Flipgrid responses.
Here is a tutorial on how to log in to the student account when not using a CVSD Chromebook. That means when you are on any other device besides a CVSD Chromebook.
If you checked out an iPad from the school and are wondering how to upload apps, you will need to utilize the Self-Service app. These are apps that have been through the CVSD approval process and are available for student use. Watch the tutorial to the right for more information and click the green box for a list of approved apps.
Central Valley School District has a provided families with a list of free websites that families can access from home to further engage their students in learning. These sites do not require any logins from the school or district.
Student Use of Chromebooks
Students that have never logged onto a Chromebook will initially need to log in with their student ID and the default password of P@ssword!
They will be required to reset their password. We typically tell teachers have then set them to their birthdate (including leading zeros), but given the circumstances, that is not necessary.
If you need help resetting a password send an email to passwordhelp@cvsd356.org that includes your child's name, student ID number (if you know it), and their birthday to help the reset be completed in a more timely manner.
