My beliefs are grounded in my values of commitment to children, believing that all students have a purpose and that teachers guide, encourage and coach students to eventually reach their purpose and goals for a fulfilling future. These beliefs were reinforced after attending a Tribal Sovereignty teacher training where I heard members of the Kalispel Tribe express their beliefs in education and that every child has a purpose and are encouraged to achieve their personal goals as well as goals to support the whole community. If education is to succeed, its purpose, curriculum, and instructional methods must be pertinent to society, with a teacher who coaches each student to a fulfilling future.
