ABOUT MRS. MORUS
Mrs. Morus is a graduate of Kiski Area High School and acquired her degree in Music Education from Duquesne University. She always had an interest in teaching music - as a student with high academic achievement, participating in concert band, jazz band and the marching band gave her a creative and positive outlet.
Mrs. Morus uses a combination of several music methodologies, including Kodály and the Gordon Music Learning Theory. By using a variety of activities in the classroom, such as singing, purposeful movement, playing instruments, and making connections to other subject areas, Mrs. Morus believes there is something in music for everyone.
The mission of Mrs. Morus and the Conemaugh Valley School District, in cooperation with the community, is to develop life-long learners, responsible citizens, and contributing members of a global society by providing and maintaining a program of diverse educational opportunities in a positive, safe, and caring environment with a commitment to excellence.
WHEN DO I HAVE MUSIC CLASS?
I'm glad you asked! Music is a 45-minute class that students will participate in once during a 6-day cycle. To see when you have music class, find your homeroom teacher's name below one of the 6 days. These days cycle through from week to week, so please be sure to keep track of what day it is, which can usually be confirmed on the lunch calendar!
Day 1:
5-3, 3-3, 2-3
Day 2:
4-1, 6-1, K-1, 1-1
Day 3:
4-2, 6-2, K-2, 1-2
Day 4:
4-3, 6-3, K-3, 1-3
Day 5:
5-1, 3-1, 1-4
Day 6:
5-2, 3-2, 2-2
