Program Objectives
· To alleviate the financial burden of selected students by providing them with daily food allowance at the PHISCIMPC canteen.
· To promote academic excellence and encourage student participation in school activities.
· To foster a sense of community and social responsibility among PHISCIMPC members and the PSHS-CVisC student body.
· Open to all currently enrolled students of PSHS-CVisC.
· Priority will be given to students from low-income families, with good academic standing, and active participation in school activities.
· A selection committee composed of representatives from PHISCIMPC and PSHS-CVisC will review recommendations and select the final beneficiaries.
· Each scholar will receive a daily food allowance during the student’s stay in PSHS-CvisC dormitory, which can be used to purchase meals and snacks at the PHISCIMPC canteen.
· The program will cover all school days, including weekends of dormitory stay, from August 5, 2024, to the end of the school year.
· The estimated maximum duration of the program is 191 school days and 57 weekends, excluding the 2-week Christmas vacation.
The Board of Directors (BOD) shall have the authority to determine the most suitable option for budgeting the Gutom Buster scholar sponsorship program for each school year. The BOD will consider the following options, considering the number of scholars and the daily food allowance per scholar. The BOD will prioritize options that provide the most efficient use of the available Community Development Fund (CDF).
The program will be funded entirely by the Community Development Fund (CDF) of the PHISCIMPC cooperative, which is 3% of the net surplus. As of this writing, the running CDF is around Php 149,000 (as of March 2024). Note that CDF allocation from the net surplus for 2023 is only around Php 50,000.
· PHISCIMPC will issue a call for recommendations to the PSHS-CVisC
· The selection committee will review recommendations and select the final beneficiaries based on established criteria.
· Selected scholars will be notified and provided with program orientation and guidelines.
· Scholars will receive their daily food allowance through a designated mechanism.
· PHISCIMPC will monitor the program’s progress and conduct regular evaluations to ensure its effectiveness and impact. Scholars under the Gutom Buster program are expected to have satisfactory grades and have no pending Level 2 offence from the school to have a continuity of this program.
