Special Education
Students will be provided instruction through synchronous and asynchronous methods by a Regular Education teacher and/or Special Education teacher.
Special Education teachers will collaborate with regular education teachers to adapt or modify regular-education materials provided to the student through their regular-education course.
The Special Education teacher will provide regular monitoring and support to students through timely feedback via digital connections, virtual office hours, and/or phone calls home.
Special Education teachers will initiate and maintain contact with regular education teachers and offer guidance and assistance to ensure that each student’s individualized SDI is implemented in regards to online learning instruction, activities/assignments, and assessments.
Special Education teachers will maintain communication with families and learners to provide support with initiation and completion of online learning activities and assessments.
Communication
Special Education teachers will be available on a flexible schedule for students throughout each week.
Special Education teachers will maintain communication to families via digital connections, virtual office hours and/or phone calls home as a means to ensure they understand expectations (work completion, assignment procedures, etc.)
Special Education teachers will communicate with district Special Education supervisors and social workers to assist families who are identified with needing assistance.
Special Education teachers will check in with general educators regarding implementation of SDI for each learner with an IEP.
