Hi! My name is Lindsay Sanchez, and I’m excited to be returning for my fifth year as a school social worker here at Canyon Middle School. I’ve lived in Castro Valley for 20 years and happy to call this community home. I began my social work career in 2005 and transitioned into school social work in 2007.

My office is located in the Wellness Center, where I’m honored to support the students and families at Canyon. As both a social worker and a parent of a middle schooler, I’m passionate about supporting students through these formative years and helping families navigate the systems around them.

The highlight for me in starting this school year is that I have a new counterpart/school social worker: Alexis King-Gallman! I am filled with gratitude and excitement to embark on this school year with a partner in all things Wellness!

Hi, I’m Ms. Alexis, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Wellness Team at Canyon Middle School this year! For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a school social worker and clinician, supporting students in their growth and well-being. At Canyon, my role will focus on Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions, helping students build skills in identifying feelings, developing coping strategies, and managing big emotions so they feel confident taking on challenges. I’ll also be supporting group spaces that highlight mental health, empowerment, and leadership.

I’m a San Francisco native who now lives in the East Bay, and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Castro Valley and all of its beautiful natural spaces. Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two daughters and love spending time outdoors. I’m excited to learn, grow, and connect alongside our students, and to be part of the Canyon community!
