My name is Edie Odell and I have been teaching for 30+ years, most of those years in Castro Valley! I received a Liberal Studies and French degree a number of years ago, but have gone back many times to increase my knowledge and specialize in reading instruction and helping children to develop the skills necessary to be life long readers. I have received my Reading Specialist Credential and a Masters Degree in Reading Leadership. I love teaching children and training new teachers within the district.

I am married and have 3 wonderful children and 8 adorable grandkids. I treasure time with my family and enjoying the endeavors of my grandkids.

I graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Saint Mary's College of California.
