I grew up in Mission Viejo, California. I spent my time playing soccer, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, participating in National Charity League, and spending time with family and friends. After graduating from Santa Margarita High School, I attended California State University, Chico where I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Education and a language and literacy pattern. I continued my post baccalaureate at California State University, Chico and received my Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. After a few years of teaching, I completed courses through USD gaining certificates focusing on the teaching of writing and character education. I then completed my MS in Advanced Teaching Practices with a Digital Literacy specialization from National University. As a teacher, I continue to take classes, participate in workshops, and engage in dialogue with colleagues allowing me to stay focused on what is most important - helping students succeed by providing a quality education that is meaningful for all involved.

When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family - my husband John, our two sons Dylan and Carson, and our two dogs Alpha and Shiloh - and experiencing all that this beautiful area has to offer.

Each year brings another opportunity to get to know students. I hope to learn more about you as we embark on this educational journey together.
