I've been teaching Biology for 25 years and Biotechnology for 20. I LOVE high school students and LOVE Biology! I graduated from San Jose State University in 1997 with a degree in Biology. I learned Biotechnology through summer classes and just knew that students needed to learn about this awesome industry. I worked at Zymergen, a Biotechnology company in Emeryville, for a year and got to taste Biotechnology first hand. It only solidified my desire to teach Biotechnology to high school students. Biotechnology is where our future is going! I earned my Career Technical Education Credential in Spring 2020 from Fresno Pacific University and continue to work at learning new things in Biology and Biotechnology.
Outside of school I am an avid tennis player, love hiking and spending time with my husband, 2 daughters, my black labrador retriever Decker, and my kitty Piper.
