Greetings!
I am thrilled to be part of the CVUSD community this year. Originally from San Leandro, CA, I attended Castro Valley Schools for five years (grades 8-12), then attended California State University, East Bay, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Discourse. At the same university, I earned teaching credentials in English and Computer Science, and a Master of Science in Educational Technology.
In the fall of 2018, I began teaching English at San Leandro High School with the Social Justice Academy. I then took a permanent position teaching at Canyon Middle School in the winter of 2019, where I taught English and AVID and served on various department, site, and district-level committees. As of fall 2024, I joined the English department at Castro Valley High School and am thrilled to be here.
I love hiking, crocheting, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. I often spend my free time reading, finding interesting things to do in the Bay Area, and volunteering at local non-profit organizations. I know that this year we will all learn a lot from each other and have some fun too! That's what learning English is all about!
I am delighted to spend this year with you! My goal for our class is to ensure that you are prepared to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking. I have high expectations for my students and we will all work hard in this class. Together, we will change the world!
