Supporting Your Student

1. Check their homework for completeness.

2. Help with organization by keeping only current work in the backpack, clean out all else.

3. Organize by Subject folder, binder or accordian file--whatever system works best for your student.

4. Make sure assignments are written into the binder reminder and your student is referring back to it.

5. Communicate with teachers, either via email and/or phone.

6. Visit the teacher website via our school website, this is found in the staff directory.

7. Consistent parental monitoring tends to keep the student on their toes and less likely to slack off.

8. Visit the Parent Portal weekly, that way any missed work is caught early on. Teachers have 150-160 students, occasionally an assignment is corrected but not logged. Checking the portal regularly catches the mistake, and your student gets the points they earned.

9. Contact teachers regarding curriculum, contact your counselor for other questions.
