We are seeking new books that can serve as windows and mirrors for our students so they can continue to learn about themselves and build empathy for other experiences.

We would like to hear from you...

What diverse titles would you like to see in Our collection?

(NO guarantees, but we will do our best to add the book!)

  1. Log into your school's Destiny Discover (Click on your school --> Navigate to left panel)

*Students/Staff/Parents: log in with your student/staff info so you can be the first to read the title if we buy it.

  1. Search for the title you'd like to add by typing in the title and author.
    i.e.-Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas

  2. If your library doesn't have the title, Make a Wish!

What do we mean by diversity in the context of a library collection?


We are looking for books that recognize all diverse experiences, including (but not limited to):

  • Ethnic, Cultural, and Religious Minority Groups-- specifically Native/Indigenous, Black/African American, Latino, Asian, and English Language Learners

  • Gender and LGBTQIA Diversity

  • People with Disabilities

  • Different Political Leanings

  • Various Body Types.


We would also like to see stories featuring various:

  • living situations / socio- economic status

  • settings-- urban, suburban, rural

  • time periods -- both historical and current stories


→ We are seeking books in which the main character or several secondary characters show their complexity of character as role models, overcoming challenges, and breaking stereotypes.

→ It is preferable that the author is part of the same minority group as the character.
