Class Visit and Instruction Calendar - Teachers 

Signing up with the library is easy!

Sign in to your Google account when you use this calendar and any bookings you make will automatically update your Google calendar! We also use it behind the scenes to reserve the library classroom for you and ensure your students get undivided attention.

Need to cancel? 

Delete the meeting from your Google calendar and it will automatically delete it from the library reservation calendar and make that slot available again for another teacher to book. No need to email.

Use this calendar to sign up for:

• a class visit to the library for independent reading (SSR) books

• a planning session with the librarian, either at the library or in your classroom. Planning sessions are on Mondays. Please sign up for a planning session at least 1 week before the instruction session.

• an instruction session with the librarian, either at the library or in your classroom. Instruction sessions are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Class visits for SSR Books

• Click on a gray box in the calendar to reserve a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday slot. Change the subject to "Class visit SSR <teacher name>". Book the entire slot even if you only need partial slot (Google can't handle partial slots - a tech issue we hope to resolve next year.)

• Note: Class visits for SSR may involve librarian time to help students find books or catalog searches, but not instruction on information literacy skills. Please book a planning and instruction session for that.

Reserve a planning session 

• Click on a gray box in the calendar to reserve a Monday planning slot.

• Please add a note to indicate the location (i.e. "Librarian's office" or "in my classroom ###"). I am happy to visit you at your classroom!

Reserve an instruction session(s) 

• Click on a gray box in the calendar to reserve a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday instruction slot.

• Please add a note to indicate the location (i.e. "At the library" or "in my classroom ###"). If at the library, we will book the library classroom for your class visit.

Attend all sessions

• Please, attend library instruction sessions with your students and take attendance. 

• Ask students to bring fully charged laptops.
