Supplies List

Required Materials: You will need these supplies for class. These supplies are necessary for successful participation in the CMS Orchestra Program. 

·       Instrument and bow of good quality from a reputable instrument vendor. Avoid using unusual colored, or painted instruments, please. 

·       Name tag – for your instrument case 

·       PENCILS with ERASERS must bring to every lesson and rehearsal

·       BLACK Music class folder OR 3-ring binder, with sheet protectors and dividers for sheet music

·       Sound Innovation or Sound Development Method Books 

·       An extra set of strings, in the correct size, for your instrument.

·       A cake of rosin. Basses must use bass-bow specific rosin!

·       A untreated cotton cleaning cloth to clean strings & remove fingerprints after each use

·       Digital Tuner or Tuner app on phone for use at home and school. 

·       Internet connection to Sound Innovations Online for practicing at home.

·       Folding Music Stand – keep at home for practicing (this can be purchased at a later time).

·       Shoulder Rest or Sponge – for violins and violas 

·       Rock Stop or End-Pin Rest – for cellos and basses.

·       Nail clippers and nail file for in instruments.
