I have lived in the Bay Area for most of my life, except for a short time when I studied Biology with a concentration in Ecology at CSU Monterey Bay.  While I was there, I dabbled in various types of research, including plant and vegetation surveys, small mammal tracking, bird counts, sand crab research, and got open water SCUBA certified.

I have also been a summer camp counselor for the past 7 summers.  I was previously a substitute teacher and then taught middle school math.   Although this is my first year teaching science, I am excited to be working with a new group of students this year at Canyon!
