How can l use an offline and online persona to show the impact of my internet experiences on my mental health? I use duality and dichotomy through two characters to represent the relationship I have with digital platforms. Despite being a tool for me, my online presence on social media also became a source of anxiety. I designed the two characters to be different and distinct but as I progressed through my series I wanted to represent my self acceptance by merging the two into one cohesive design..

The use of digital and physical materials in this series connects to my online and offline personas. I shift from focusing on the characters and the separation using cool vs warm colors and multiple panels (Slides 1-3) to how their interactions would be by using size and one frame (Slides 6 & 4).  I print, cut, and physically layer to create form. I crochet to pull two worlds together using string and thread with real texture to represent the merging of characters through the use of one final character (Slides 13 & 11). The merge is my self acceptance and recovery from negative experiences.
