Throughout my series, I am investigating how I experience reading and how the role of storytelling creates fantastical imagery and angles of being consumed in a story. This is an inside look at how I perceive literature and the playfulness of delving into another world condensed into paper-thin dimensions.
Some ideas that guided my investigation are: how the narrator tells different perspectives of a story, how outside distractions are limited while reading, how characters’ voices change, and how a reader imagines characters. Furthermore, I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with the intensity of color and how it reflects the change in dialogue and tone I perceive while reading. I associate a dark royal blue with subtle symbolism and text and bright hues of yellow with highlighting protagonistic positions. I found the texturization of abstracted images rang more true of interpreting what is imagined from fiction-based stories.
