My artwork explores the theme of dreams and the reality withheld within our subconscious. Our subconscious conceals all of our thoughts in the boundless confines of our heads, including the ones we try to suppress, with events or feelings manifesting in bizarre ways that invite curiosity and interpretation. The dreams may force us to confront memories and feelings from stressful or significant times, revealing hidden meanings only when we try to decipher the strange events. 

This series uses two recurring elements which are the dreamer and another dark-looking figure. This mysterious figure is developed throughout the series and its significance becomes clearer as the series progresses. What at first seems to be a harmful entity soon reveals itself to be none other than a hidden facet of the dreamer’s identity which has been under the surface all along, but seems unfamiliar when pushed out to be confronted through the dreams. Experimentation with color also played a large part in creating a dreamlike atmosphere, heightening the sense of immersion in a dream.
