In my investigation I explore visualized loneliness, and the impact of emotions that may come with it, reflecting on my own past feelings of isolation and loss of connection.
When beginning this investigation, I knew I wanted to make it more personal by presenting rooms that I knew well and that held emotion when I would walk into them. For these secluded rooms, I created a series of 3D spaces surrounded by voids, leaving an isolated figure that is seen in each work. These rooms flood with water throughout my series, representing the increase in emotion as the figure struggles to maintain their connection with the plant, the only other living thing in these rooms, representing my connection with others while trying to ignore and avoid my emotions. Using grays and water-based material, I bring out a gloomy mood throughout the works.
