In my series, I'm focusing on fears and stressors by exaggerating them in my artwork but in reality, I decrease their power. Towards the end of the series, I want to show how I depict myself overcoming these fears. I want them to have a personal connection that shows that anyone can overcome their fears.
I start by sketching and researching to make sure my piece is believable and has the dramatic effect I visually see in my head. My first seven pieces show these stressors through the use of dark colors, repetitive details, and creepy eye creatures. The eyeballs depicted in each piece represent my fears. Eyeballs are chosen to represent all my fears and stressors combined into what it has become in my series. They symbolize me personally from dealing with these fears and overcoming them. The last piece in my series shows a change in color and contrast because the use of bright colors represents overcoming these fears and in reality, they aren't bad. They show how you have overcome these stressors as obstacles.
