ACT

College-bound students are encouraged to take the ACT during the spring of their junior year.  Seniors may also take the test.  The ACT measures academic skills in English, reading, math, and science reasoning.  The optional Writing test measures skill in planning and writing a short essay. 

SAT

The SAT is used along with a student's high school record and other information to assess competence for college work.  College-bound juniors usually take the test during the spring of their junior year.  Seniors may also take the test.  This test measures critical reading, writing and mathematical reasoning skills.
