(Temporary COVID-19) Stocklmeir School Song

Stocklmeir Sing Along.mp4

Thank you, Mrs. Davis, for writing these moving lyrics to our Stocklmeir school song. Our "temporary" Stocklmeir song will help our pandas get through these tough times together ❤️🐼

Oh Stocklmeir, we’re stuck at home

We can’t wait til it’s safe to roam

But for now, please know we care

Our panda pride is what we share

Oh Stocklmeir, keep trying your best

Balance remote learning with some rest

Always hold your head up high

and keep that twinkle in your eye

Oh Stocklmeir, let’s see your smile

We can get through this for a while

Keep the love close to your heart

We’ll feel together, not apart

We Miss You!

Dear Stocklmeir Families,

Our news for the week is below. Thanks for reading!

Home COVID Symptom Checks

Parents are required to conduct symptom checks each morning at home before children come to school. For your convenience, please refer to this Parent Quick Reference Guide. Also see this Santa Clara County Public Health Parent Resource.

Additionally, out of an abundance of caution, any time a student exhibits any of the symptoms listed below, the child is escorted to the Isolation Room; parents are called and asked to pick up the child:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose

  • New or unexplained fatigue

  • New or unexplained muscle or body aches

  • New or unexplained headache

  • New or unexplained sore throat

  • New or unexplained nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

Some of the symptoms may be due to seasonal allergies, but unless we have a doctor's note on file (the symptoms are due to a known cause), we must send the child home. Thank you for submitting doctor’s notes to the office promptly!

Thank you, Volunteers!

Thank you for helping during drop-off and pick-up times, with the kindness rocks for the Peace and Diversity Garden, and device collection! You’ve been invaluable!

Thank you to those 3rd-5th grade students who already took the survey. So far 33% of 3rd through 5th graders have taken the survey. The window to take the survey ends on June 8th. If your child still has not taken the survey, please have them login using the link below. Only students with consent can access the survey. Students take the survey with their 6 digit Perm ID number. The Survey takes only about 10 minutes to complete (https://surveys.panoramaed.com/cupertino/login). Scores will be available to parents at a later date.

May is Health Awareness Month!

CUSD’s Mental Health Team created a Virtual Calming Space. This space is created for students, families, and teachers for exploration of coping and regulation strategies such as calming music, movement exercises, yoga and coloring activities. Title: Distance Learning Through June

Good Afternoon CUSD Families,

Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom and California State Superintendent Tony Thurmond have stated that school buildings in California will remain closed for the remainder of the school year due to needed action to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Please see the attached letter from the County Superintendent of Schools, Mary Ann Dewan, and all thirty-one School District Superintendents in Santa Clara County.

Thank you for your immense support and flexibility. Though our school buildings are not open for classes, the school year is not over. We will continue to support staff in strengthening the delivery of education through distance learning.

We are committed to continuing to provide our CUSD families with regular updates in the ensuing weeks.

Wishing you all the best and please stay safe and healthy.

Message from the District Office, sent to families 3/25/20:

Title: Extension of School Closures Through May 1, 2020

Dear CUSD community,

We are writing to let you know that Santa Clara County, in partnership with five other Bay Area counties, has decided that school closures be extended through Friday, May 1, 2020. In accordance with that decision, all schools in the Cupertino Union School District will remain closed through May 1. Teachers will continue with remote instruction throughout school closures.

Spring Break will continue as previously scheduled during the week of April 12, 2020.

The shelter at home order and all other Public Health, county and state guidance remain in place. Schools will continue to provide essential services, including food service to students.

We know that the school closures and shelter at home order will continue to create challenges for our students, families, and staff. Despite these challenges, our dedicated staff continues to work diligently to provide a positive and supportive educational experience for all students.

Please continue to check our School Closure Resources webpage <https://www.cusdk8.org/Page/8768> for the latest updates from CUSD.

With the extension of school closures, we wanted to remind the community that school campuses are closed to the public. In collaboration with city agencies, we are requesting that community members do not come onto school campuses, which includes play structures, blacktop spaces, and fields.

Please do not allow your children and teens to be on school campuses. Our custodians have been working very hard to keep our schools sanitized and safe, and with schools closed, there is no reason for anyone to be on campus right now.

As we face these obstacles together, we thank you for your support and continued partnership.
