What will my classes look like? What will be expected of me?
Teachers will post assignments, resources, and grades through google classroom, Edmodo, their websites, etc. They might even arrange for a virtual class through hangout. Check your grade level link above for information on each of your classes.
Teacher Availability: All teachers and counselors will be online and available for students and parents throughout the day. Please remember that teachers also have families at home and are balancing the needs of family and work. You can expect a response to email within 48 hours.
Follow a Daily Schedule: Set a routine that is your “school time” Remember, this is not time off - you are still attending school, but in a different learning environment. Be sure to schedule time to take a mental break, get a snack or some fresh air: we suggest a 15-minute break for every 1.5 to 2 hours of work. Having a routine will help you focus and use your time effectively.
Create a workspace for yourself so you can use an electronic device such as a computer, open a textbook, and complete assignments. As much as possible, minimize potential distractions from siblings, gaming systems, etc.
Practice good online etiquette. Remember to follow the guidelines of the CUSD tech agreement at all times. They still apply during your distance learning.
Use a headset if you are in a place with background noise.
Mute when you’re not speaking.
Avoid too much back light (such as a window) behind you.
Follow your teacher’s guidelines for how to participate and ask questions during the conference.
