IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A HOMEMADE PENCIL HOLDER CRAFT YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
Empty and Clean Vegetable Can
Glue
Safety Scissors
Ruler
Decorative Paper/Construction Paper
Pencil or Crayons
Optional items for decoration like buttons, gems, or yarn
THIS STEP REQUIRES ADULT HELP! To get started with your Homemade Pencil Holder, first empty and clean a vegetable can. Be sure that it is dry and that there are no sharp edges on the inside where the lid was removed.
Next, select a solid color of construction paper to be the base of your creation. Measure your can’s height and use a ruler to trace that length you will need to wrap all the way around the can. Cut out the size of paper you need with the safety scissors.
The base paper then needs to be glued around the outside of the can. Make sure that you add plenty of glue to secure it and once dried, cut off any excess paper along the edges.
Once you have all of your art supplies ready, let your artistic side loose and decorate the outside of the Homemade Pencil Holder however you like!
