Description: What if three instructional practices could dramatically strengthen classroom instruction and accelerate student learning?
At Westmont Junior High School, Principal Amy Quattrone and Literacy Specialist, Kristin Richey have been working to strengthen instructional clarity and improve student outcomes across classrooms. As the next step in that work, they are introducing a framework known as “The Westmont 3” - three research-based practices that will guide teaching and learning across classrooms in the coming year.
In this session, participants will explore three high-impact strategies: Clear Learning Objectives, Gradual Release of Responsibility, and Assessment for Learning and how they can transform everyday instruction when implemented with clarity and consistency.
Through practical classroom examples and leadership insights, Amy and Kristin will demonstrate how these practices can increase engagement, strengthen instruction, and improve student outcomes. Participants will leave with clear, actionable strategies they can apply immediately in their own classrooms or schools.
