Winter Park is probably the resort to go to if you're in Denver. It is quite huge, it has a large variety of terrain, and is the closest resort to Denver by car! It is best known for awesome bumps, black diamonds, and lots of powder.
Pros:
Coll and known for advanced steep bump runs to get your thighs burning

Awesome to navigate - amazing trail map with seven different sections - each of them their own type of terrain and family friendliness

Palisades Tahoe is a great place for advanced skiers, with a ton of single black diamonds. This place is amazing. It is extremely famous for its expert terrain, such as The Palisades, KT-22, and the Fingers.
Pros:
Lots of advanced stuff all around the mountain.

Pretty crowded - Tahoe's most visited ski area
Alta is really great for advanced terrain. The place has an amazing amount of black diamonds, with lots of variety for that challenging terrain. Alta is a classic resort, with lots of famous runs, such as the Baldy Chutes, High Boy, So long, and Gunsight. I will use the same pros and cons as the other review I gave on Alta, on the Expert/Extreme rankings.

Snowbird is one of the best resorts in Utah. It's in the Little Cottonwood canyon, near Salt Lake City, and is known for its challenging terrain.
Pros:
Heavy overload of advanced and expert stuff.
Quite a lot of snow, with almost five hundred inches per year!
The place is pretty huge - and since basically the entire thing is hard, the hard area is HUGE!!!
Cons:
The tram line - which gets you to a ton of awesome terrain - can be super long
Whistler Blackcomb is the best ski area in the world, (in my opinion), and so it is not a surprise that this area is on the top 20 for every single ranking list. I think this resort in the best ever.
Pros:
Huge - A lot of everything - beginner, advanced, terrain parks, you name it!
Hiking and traversing almost never required - lift system very efficient
Altitude 2,000 feet - altitude sickness begone!

Telluride is a resort that is super good for advanced runs. It is mainly known for its extreme terrain, but most of those double blacks have advanced runs right beneath them.

Big Sky is a huge resort with lots of advanced runs. It not only has all the blacks under Lone Peak, but lots of other stuff all around the mountain.

Keystone is the family resort of Summit County. It is pretty big, has lots of amenities, and is home to a ton of black diamonds on the farther away mountains.

Jackson Hole is famous (or INfamous), depending on how you look at it, for extreme terrain. Extreme stuff is the brother of advanced, so it is pretty obvious

Alyeska is Alaska's best. It is for sure the largest resort, the greatest one, and the most famous. It has a lot of black diamonds all along the mountain, with great views of the ocean bay.

Vail is perhaps the most famous resort in the USA, and that is partly because of its great advanced terrain. The town is great, and the place is huge!

Kirkwood is a good advanced resort with amazing mogul runs everywhere. It's good with snow, and has, on average, the best conditions in Tahoe. It's never crowded.

Mammoth Mountain is a mammoth ski area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is huge, and has great advanced terrain. It is also the highest resort in california, so it gets plenty of snow.

Breckenridge is one of the best resorts in the US, with the highest visitation rate of any resort. It has a great ski town, good snow preservation, and lots of advanced terrain to explore!

Park City is the biggest ski resort in the US of A. It has a ton of black diamonds to shred, and a huge ski town with everything a Utah resort has to offer.
