A medical physical form completed by a doctor, no older than November, 2023 is required to be on file in the FMS Health Office (tip: make copies of this physical after parents have signed it!) Quick and inexpensive physicals are often available at some Walgreens and CVS locations (see their websites).

Get flexible and in shape before we start running together! Here are some thoughts:
for safety, runners should run with older siblings or parents--if older family members aren't runners, they can always bike along with their runner.
shoes that fit well are key--if you need new ones, give Dick Pond's a call. There will be an FMS Night at Dick Pond's with discounts soon!
cross training is good for avoiding injury and staying motivated; you don't need to be running every day, especially when we're not in season. Biking is also great for cardiovascular training, and yoga is great for flexibility.
Stretch-- a lot! Maybe whenever you're watching TV. Drink water then too.
Remember that a healthy diet and sleep schedule will make you a better runner and a better person!
