Steps in Process
Process for Enrolling Your Homeschooled Child at a District 200 High School:
Between April 1-May 1 of the preceding school year, parent/guardian completes the online Homeschool Partnership Request Form (HPRF) to begin the enrollment process. (Exceptions to this date are considered only for a documented change of home address.)
Following completion of the Homeschool Partnership Request Form, families will receive an email confirming receipt of the form and instructions on next steps and resources to assist in the process. The confirmation form will include all necessary documentation to request course approvals and to submit final grades at the conclusion of each semester.
By June 1, parent/guardian submits the following:
Requests are processed annually, rather than by semester, for the upcoming school year.
Homeschool course approval must be requested for each individual school year.
Activation in the district student information system is reset each school year.
Requests are processed annually for both upcoming semesters.
Homeschool partners will not have to resubmit coursework or forms for 2nd semester.
Homeschool coursework is a year-long commitment.
The respective assistant principal will issue approval, denial or request for additional information no later than July 15. Courses approved are locked for the duration of the requested homeschool course(s).
Once courses are approved, families should contact the school main line to follow the standard student registration steps in order to be issued a District 200 student ID number and to be eligible to register for athletics and/or activities. Families should begin the standard student registration process no later than August 15. Note: Standard student registration is required for access to athletics and/or activities.
Homeschool Parents will complete weekly eligibility updates to both high school athletic directors throughout the designated season.
Using the Homeschool Grade Submission Form, homeschool partner families will submit official final semester grades within 3 weeks of the end of the D200 semester, for both fall and spring semesters. Timely submission of both semester’s grades is solely the responsibility of the homeschool partner families.
The final homeschool grades for the pre-approved homeschool courses will be included in the student’s D200 transcript and will be noted as such.
