Agricultural Biology is a 9th-grade life science course. In this course, students learn to identify the role of animals, plants, and humans in modern-day life. Topics covered in this course include applied biochemistry, cellular biology, animal/plant physiology, environmental science, and agricultural production.
Agricultural Chemistry is a 10th-grade physical science course. In this course, students learn to identify the role of atoms and molecules in modern-day life. Topics covered in this course include applied mathematics, the structure and function of atoms/molecules, chemical reactions, medical biochemistry, and earth science. To enroll in this course, a student must first complete: Agricultural Biology and Math 1.
Veterinary Science is an 11th/12th-grade integrated science course. In this course, students learn to identify the role of biochemistry and physiology in survival of animals. Topics covered in this course include systemic physiology, biomedical chemistry, and livestock production. To enroll in this course, a student must first complete: Agricultural Chemistry.
Agricultural Mechanics is a shop class where students learn various trade-skills commonly found in the agricultural industry. These trade-skills include, but are not limited to: electrical, woodworking, plumbing, small engines, welding, and tractor operations. This course certifies students with OSHA-10 and Ag Mechanic Industry Certifications.
Ag Projects is an internship-model course in which students work on tractor mechanics all year long. Although there are no automotive mechanics course exists at CHS, all the skills that can be learned in those courses are taught in Tractor Restoration. To enroll in this course, a student must first complete: Agricultural Mechanics.
Agricultural Soil Science is a physical science course offered to Sophomores and Junoirs in alternative to Chemistry. Students learn about the value and chemistry of the soil in the agriculture industry. To enroll in this course, a student must be a prior member of the FFA and passed Biology course at CHS.
