Background:I grew up in Litchfield, Illinois a rural town about an hour north of Collinsville. I moved to Edwardsville, IL and attended college at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. This is where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I was lucky enough to student teach at DIS in a 5th grade classroom, and when a spot opened up in 6th grade, I knew I had to stay at DIS! This is now my third year teaching 6th grade here, and as I’m sure you all know by now, DIS is an amazing school!
About Me:I am an animal loving, mother of two… beautiful dogs named Casper and Bruno! Casper is a yellow lab and Bruno is a black terrier mix. I just recently got marriedlastfall to my husband, Brad, whom I’ve been with for almost 10 years now. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the fourth grade, and am ecstatic to finally be doing so! I consider myself to be a pretty outgoing and easy to get along with person. I have many hobbies and interests. To name a few: I love Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, video games, musicals/theater, music of all genres, and so much more. During my time in high school and college, I have been a part of several organizations/groups including sports, musicals, band/choir, student organizations, and more. I am a huge supporter of extracurricular activities, and would LOVE to learn more about what you do in your free time. That being said, if you ever have a baseball game, piano recital, or anything like that, let me know and I will try to be there or support you in some way!
