Band Directors

Justin Duvall is a local native to Granite City (IL) and is a graduate of Granite City High School. Mr. Duvall attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Trumpet Performance in 2018. 

During his time at SIUE, Mr. Duvall was the winner of both the Wind Symphony and the Symphony Orchestra concerto competitions. He also performed in master classes with Susan Slaughter, Karen Bliznik, and Brian Shaw. He was also the President of the Xi Tau chapter of Phi Mu Alpha for three years.

After graduation, Mr. Duvall was the Director of Bands and taught General Music in Mt. Olive, IL from 2018-2020. He then taught K-4 general music in the Collinsville School District from 2020-2024. Mr. Duvall took his love of the Orff Schulwerk and has started to apply it to the Collinsville Beginning Band program, bridging their knowledge from K-4 music to beginning band.  

When he is not teaching, Mr. Duvall works as a production assistant for concerts in the St. Louis area. He has worked with artists like Post Malone, Beyoncé, and 21 Savage. Mr. Duvall takes his love of music and applies it to all aspects of his life.

Jordan Harrington is a Collinsville (IL) native and graduate of Collinsville High School. Following graduation, Ms. Harrington went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2021.

During her time at SIUE, Ms. Harrington was an avid performer — participating in a plethora of both small and large ensembles, and serving as principal clarinetist for the SIUE Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra. She was also an active member and President of the ILCMEA - SIUE Collegiate Chapter (formerly NAfME). She then went on to student teach in Southwestern CUSD #9.

Ms. Harrington is also a passionate music educator. She has been working with the Collinsville High School Marching Kahoks and Concert Bands since 2016, in addition to working as a performer and sought-out private lesson instructor.

Upon graduating, Ms. Harrington accepted a position in the Collinsville Unit 10 School District, where she currently serves as the Assistant Band Director at Dorris Intermediate School and Collinsville Middle School, teaching 5th – 6th grade general music and co-teaching 5th – 8th grade band.
